How we verify

Last updated

Each listing can show the date we last checked it by hand, the official pages we used, and whether the tool is active, acquired, or discontinued. That is a record of a check. It is not a score, a vote, or a rank.

In short

  • SoloFounders.network is a directory of AI tools and software for solo founders, people who build a company alone.
  • “Verified” on SoloFounders.network means that on the date shown, we compared the listing with the vendor’s official pages by hand.
  • Only official pages count as sources on SoloFounders.network: the vendor’s site, pricing page, docs or code repository. User reviews are not sources.
  • Each listing on SoloFounders.network has a status: active, acquired or discontinued. An acquired or discontinued tool can keep its page, with a status banner.
  • SoloFounders.network has no fixed re-check schedule yet: the date on each listing shows how recent its last check is.
  • A solo-fit verdict on SoloFounders.network says how a tool works for a team of one: who it is best for, when to skip it, and the alternatives. Verdicts are being written now.

The date on a listing

Each listing shows the date we last checked it by hand, when we have recorded one. The date is the day we last compared the listing with the vendor’s official pages. It is not the date of the last edit: a listing can be edited without a new check.

If you do not see a date, we have not recorded a manual check for that listing yet. Some business-stack tools were added before we started keeping this date.

Prices

When we check a price, we save the date of that check with the figures we saw: the pricing page, the kind of pricing, and the plans. The price on the listing is the one we saved that day. Prices change, so confirm the current price on the vendor’s site.

Sources

Sources are the official pages we checked: the vendor’s site, the pricing page, the docs, or the repository. Each source is a link to the page we checked. These are citations, separate from reviews and from the order of the hubs.

How a solo-fit verdict is written

Each verdict opens with one sentence on how the tool works for a team of one, then three short lists: best for, skip if, and alternatives, with links to their listings.

We write the verdict from the checked facts and sources on the listing. It is an editorial opinion, not a score: it has no stars or points. Price is one fact among others, never the verdict itself.

Verdicts are being written now. Until a listing has one, use its check date and sources.

Status

A listing is active, acquired, or discontinued.

  • Active: the tool is still offered. No banner is shown.
  • Acquired: the page says the tool was acquired. When we have a listing for the product that acquired it, the banner links there. When we know when the status changed, the banner includes that date.
  • Discontinued: the page says the tool was discontinued, and includes the date of the change when we have it.

After a tool is acquired or discontinued

An acquired or discontinued tool can stay on the site so that banner remains visible. A listing with no status noted is treated as active.

How a check is saved

We check a listing by hand against the vendor’s official pages, then save the date, the sources, and the prices we saw. Coding agents, model providers, and skills were checked that way when they were added to the AI Stack. If a listing already has a date, sources, or prices, a later update of the catalog leaves those in place until we check the listing again.

We do not re-check on a fixed schedule yet. Each re-check is done by hand and saves a new date, so the date on a listing always shows how recent its last check is.

Reviews

The name, the short line and the description present the tool. They are not part of the check.

Reviews are opinions from people who use the tool. A review count is not a check of the price, the status, or the sources.

Order on the hubs

The order of a hub is not a ranking or a recommendation. Coding agents and providers are sorted by the number of reviews left on the site, skills by GitHub stars. Price is never used to sort.

The homepage can feature a tool. Featuring is separate from that order. No vendor pays to be listed, featured or ranked.
